Hello! I'm Sheri Groleau, I am a concept artist currently located in Edmonton, Alberta. My passion is creature and character design; my work focuses on technical understanding of anatomy and biomechanics for original and client-based work - ranging from casual to professional study, portraiture, and design. I'm currently looking for work that allows me to be a part of a creative team to apply my skills to the development of memorable characters and designs in the realm of video gaming.

Freelance concept art and illustration has formed the bulk of my work since 2012, working both under my own direction as well as the direction of others. I have done extensive creature design and illustration work for Black Triangle’s “BLACKBIRDS” tabletop RPG, and character concept design and illustration for Action Fiction’s “CTHULHU DREAMT” custom D12 tabletop RPG.

My work is deeply grounded on a personal love for biology, ecology, and anatomy. A love of horror forms the backbone of many of my designs, with a pointed focus on bodyhorror and uncanniness influenced by anatomical understanding. My desire to work in video games comes from a love of playing video games as a hobby and a deep appreciation of the medium as an art form and vehicle for storytelling.
